Hello Families,
It is our JOY to once again invite your young artists to gather in the lovely (and air conditioned) Aquaria Art Studio classroom overlooking the Schuylkill River (which, despite impurities, just SPARKLES on a sunny day!)
This year we will offer techniques in three dimensional papercraft, creating both small large scale sculptures, with realistic features and moving parts; Students will gain an introduction to papermache, puppet craft, pop-up books, and an amazing artform called "Fluid Oragami." Students will gain mastery in a variety of handheld tools, and learn to see their project through from idea to design to execution.
For those who've joined us in previous years, we are offering an extra hour of camp in the morning, to give parents a longer day to work or rest while their child is with us. The new schedule will be 9am-2pm, with a break for lunch. That will give your child 27 hours of camp, with generous 5 hour days to focus on their work, and a 2 hour art exhibition party. This will be a true All-levels Art Immersion experience.
Dates:
This year we offer four independent sessions:
July 6-10, July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-August 1
Though each session will be independent, they will feature a progressive curricula, in that every week the techniques taught will increase in sophistication. While you are welcome to register for any week, older and more advanced students might consider showing up for the second half of the month, while beginners might prefer to participate during the first two weeks. For a more rigorous investigation, a serious student might register for more than one week. If there is interest, students may register for multiple weeks, taking $50 off for each additional week.
So thrilled to gather again, and wishing everyone an uplifting Spring.
Aaron Birk
