Aaron's inquiry into Movement Arts encompasses 22 years of research, training, and performance, with a special emphasis on Contact Improvisation and The Axis Syllabus. Beyond the dance, Aaron maintains a 25 year career as a professional Illustrator, Muralist, and Teacher of Art. His pathways have extended to Carpentry, Forestry and Wetland Restoration, and Fashion Design. Aaron is a Teaching Candidate for The Axis Syllabus.
His pedagogy embraces an adaptable, responsive curricula, that emphasizes apprenticeship, embodiment, and hands-on (analog) tools. His pathways have extended to Carpentry, Clothing Design, and Ecological Restoration.
His current inquiry, "Drawing The Dancing Body," investigates the power of gesture-drawing as a pathway to expanded anatomical and kinesthetic awareness.
Aaron is the bisexual child of Holocaust survivors who fled both Germany and The Ukraine to start a new life in the United States. Aaron's people have faced extermination in countless lands, for countless generations. Through his studies of Buddhism, Polyvagal Theory, and Non Violent Communication, Aaron has found effective pathways to healing from the ancestral traumas that haunt him.
